Skoda’s First 7-seater Concept EV, Vision 7s Revealed.
Czech car maker Skoda, recently unveiled their all electric 7-seater SUV, Vision 7s. The new concept moves away from the conventional aspects of the car maker with bolder aesthetics and a novel design language and boasting the new logo of the company. The car is expected to hit production by 2026.
The company also revealed some major specs of the car reflecting the technological advancements the company intends to incorporate in this model. Upfront, the car will feature a 89-kWh battery enabling the car to go 600 kilometres (372 miles) in a single charge. The car will be based on Volkswagen Group’s modular MEB platform and the car will charge up rapidly with a charging support of nearly 200kWh.
The exterior of the car looks appealing with sleek LEDs on front and rear, alloy wheels and an overall bold design. The car’s interiors equally compliment the exterior with spacious design, a unique 14.6-inch touch infotainment system and the company’s new virtual cockpit that offers an 8.8-inch display and a new redesigned steering wheel with rectangular aesthetics.
Summing up the design aspects that the VISION 7S brings, SKODA chief designer Oliver Stefani says, “Over recent months, we have collaboratively developed an entirely new design language. I would like to thank my team for their great dedication and outstanding work on this intensive and exciting project. We’ve refined time-proven solutions and courageously broken new ground. The minimalist, functional design conveys a sense of security and radiates strength, while at the same time enhancing the aerodynamics of the vehicles we’ll be adding to our portfolio in the future.”
The company also plans another two pure electric vehicles by this year with one being a compact SUV and the other being a small car. The Vision 7s is aimed at hitting the family car segment in the market.
