Eve And Blade Join Hands to Accelerate Electric Air Mobility In Europe
June 20, Europe: Electric aviation start-up, Eve Air Mobility is all set to expand an existing partnership with Blade Air Mobility to use Eve’s upcoming aircraft in Blade’s European networks, starting with France. The two companies have signed an MoU to integrate Eve's advanced vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) or electric vertical aircraft (EVA) into Blade's European route network.
Blade Air Mobility, whose European routes include flying conventional choppers between Nice and Monaco, has an existing contract with Eve to use its eVTOL vehicles in the United States and India. As a part of the alliance, Blade would emphasise on developing practical applications for air mobility, including identification of future routes in France and other European countries.
Eve Mobility is among the major companies developing eVTOL crafts for short routes centred around major cities and airports, and is planning for its vehicle to start commercial operations in 2026.
As per the company’s official press release, Andre Stein, Co-CEO, Eve said, “The continued partnership between Eve and Blade showcases the dedication and collaboration of both companies to transform the aviation industry and introduce electric air transportation to new regions." "By combining our expertise and resources, we are committed to expanding advanced air mobility with innovative solutions that make travel more accessible for passengers and drive significant environmental improvements”, he further added.
Moreover, both Eve and Blade have claimed to deploy nearly 200 electric aircrafts in India. The company also plans to deploy aircrafts among major routes in the US.
Blade is currently working on developing practical applications for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) including identifying future routes in European countries that could potentially support AAM operations. Last year, Blade acquired charter and scheduled flight operations of three largest urban air mobility operators in Southern Europe including: Monacair, Héli Sécurité, and Azur Hélicoptère.
As per the official press release by the company, Chief Executive Blade, Rob Wiesenthal said, “Extending our partnership with Eve underscores Blade’s commitment to leading the transition from conventional to electric vertical aircraft.”
Moreover, this collaboration represents a significant step toward transforming air transportation in Europe and introducing electric air travel to new regions along with a safer and sustainable future of the aviation industry along with encouraging such urban air mobility partnerships.
